Definition
(n.) a living organism typically growing in a permanent site with well-formed tissues and organs aimed to absorb water and inorganic substances from the substrate (soil), transport them to other parts of itself, where they are combined with carbon dioxide taken up from the surrounding atmosphere to synthesize organic substances and release oxygen by photosynthesis using the green pigment chlorophyll.
